"It was a Saturday, and the surf was huge! Fifteen, twenty-foot waves! We would find ourselves sitting in these glassy conditions for a while on our surfboards, when someone would call; "BIG set coming!" Then with every ounce of energy, we would paddle towards the horizon because we saw these fine shadows of lines coming towards us, and we knew that at any moment there would be fifteen, twenty foot waves pounding in on us! We had a choice if we were caught inside. If a wave was going to break on us, we could either hold onto our surfboards, and risk getting caught up in those waves and killed, by being hit by our boards. Or we could get off our surfboards, thrust them far from us, and dive deep into that water and the safety of the depth..."
Now for years the prophets have warned; 'BIG set coming!' The justice of God is coming closer and closer to us. Those fine shadows are now much closer than they were thousands of years ago, and each of us are caught up inside. We have violated God's law, and the justice of God will fall upon us on the Day of Judgement. So we have a choice. We can either wait and let God's wrath fall upon us, we can stay with our darling sins that uphold us, and will be the death of us, or we can get off and through repentance, thrust those sins far from us and dive deep into the love and mercy of God which is alone in Jesus Christ.

God commands, "All men every where to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness" (Acts 17:30-31). Many will rejoice to see justice done. Murderers, terrorists, rapists, all criminals, even those who have avoided punishment in this life, will be brought to justice. Every idle word spoken and every thought and intent of the heart will be brought out into the light. A day of reckoning and unspeakable fear is coming when the great books are opened and the guilty, "Fall into the hands of the living God" (Hebrews 10:31).

Will God's wrath fall upon you? Are you perfect in thought, word and deed as the Bible commands? (Ecclesiastes 12:13/Matthew 5:48). Have you ever lied or stolen? Have you ever used the name of God or Jesus Christ as a swear word, as a mere expression of disgust? Then you are a lying, thieving, blasphemer. Jesus said: "Whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:27-28). Have you ever looked with lust? Then you are an adulterer in God's eyes. Have you ever hated anyone? Then realise: "Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer" (1 John 3:15). God must by His nature punish all sin and, "Will by no means clear the guilty" (Exodus 34:7).

Listen to the voice of you conscience as it confirms the truth of your guilt and shame. Think of the sins of your past. God has seen them all. If you were to die right now, where would you go? Perhaps you fear to even comprehend the thought, yet the Bible makes it clear that; "All liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire" (Revelation 21:8). No thief, blasphemer, adulterer or murderer can enter Heaven (Galatians 5:19-21). Does it concern you that you would end up in Hell? It should! Your life is precious to you. What is a short lifetime of sin and rebellion worth when compared to an eternity in Hell?

The good news is that God, rich in mercy, longsuffering and kindness has made a way for you to be forgiven. In His great love, God became a man in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to fulfil the law, and pay the penalty, which our sins deserved. We sinned, yet Jesus suffered and died in the place of sinners. His resurrection demonstrated the truth of His words: "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" (John 11:25). "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

If you cling to your sin it will be the death of you. You must thrust your sin far from you and realise that, "he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities" (Isaiah 53:5) Repent today! Confess your sins to God and turn from them. "Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18). Dive deep into the love and mercy of God. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31). "Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21) will shelter you from God's justice on Judgment Day because, "The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" (1 John 1:7). "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out" (Acts 3:19).

"He that hath the Son hath life"
(1 John 5:12)
